On 1 February, 2021, Circular Economy Week kicked-off with a national conference on the circular economy. At this conference, Biopartner5 was a finalist for the 2021 Circular Awards. Paul Nijhout, partner at STONE22, nominated Biopartner5 because of its large-scale reuse of building materials. Through this reuse of materials, the building has achieved a 40% CO2 reduction and may be the first ‘Paris Proof’ building in the Netherlands.
