Optimizing Real Estate Management, High Tech Campus

Philips sold the real estate on its High Tech Campus to the Chalet Group in 2012, and subsequently leased it back for an extended period of time. High Tech Campus Eindhoven contains the smartest square kilometers in the Netherlands, with more than 220 companies and institutes, and some 12,000 researchers, developers, and entrepreneurs working on future technologies and products. The Campus helps accelerate innovation thanks to access to high-tech facilities and an international network. Campus companies such as Philips, NXP, IBM, and Intel strategically determine which knowledge, skills, and R&D facilities to share in order to innovate faster, better, and in a more customer-oriented fashion – particularly in the areas of Health, Energy, and Smart  Environments. Located in the heart of Brainport, the Campus companies are responsible for almost 40% of all patent applications in the Netherlands.

The Role of STONE22

STONE22 played an advisory and supporting role in the optimization and organization of the real estate management of Philips Real Estate. We advised on the responsibilities, tasks, risks, and on how the organization should be structured and staffed. Practical support was also provided by means of a blueprint of the organization and the establishment of workflows and work procedures.
