Redevelopment Tripolis: the new headquarters for Nikon
Nikon moved its European headquarters to Tripolis, a pre-existing office building designed by Aldo van Eyck. The building was taken in hand by the architect Moriko Kira, who created a global working atmosphere where the transparency and lightness of the design contribute to the interaction, mutual cooperation, and creativity of the company’s nationally diverse employees.
The role of STONE22
STONE22 found the building just as the previous owner delivered it. We therefore first completely gutted the building, and then rebuilt everything according to a design by the architect Moriko Kira. We had only six months to achieve this, so we acted with speed and efficiency. In the redevelopment of this building, the focus was on the use of sheer materials such as steel, glass, and wood. The materials were all chosen carefully, and then detailed and assembled to match the identity of Nikon’s high quality products.
