STONE22 recruited in the development of laboratory and office building in Amsterdam Science Park

Matrix Innovation Center is developing a new laboratory and office building of over 9,000 m2 GFA in the Amsterdam Science Park. The Advanced Research Center for Nanolithography (ARCNL) has already signed a lease agreement for over a third of the building. Various other parties have also expressed concrete interest. The building offers high-quality facilities for high-tech research, including laboratories and offices. The building will meet BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standards, and was designed by Ector Hoogstad  Architects. Due to the increased interest in the Amsterdam Science Park, all existing Matrix buildings are almost  fully leased and further expansion is necessary. The new building will be located on the MC Gillavrylaan next to the FOM Institute AMOLF building. The planned completion date is May 2018.

About Matrix Innovation Center, ARCNL, and the Amsterdam Science Park

Matrix Innovation Center is the owner of five business incubator buildings in the Amsterdam Science Park, and in them provides housing and facilities for about 105 start-up companies in the ICT, Big Data, High Tech, and (green) Life Science sectors. Geert Haksteen (STONE22) is the director at Matrix Innovation Center and is responsible on behalf of shareholders for this new development. The Amsterdam Science Park is also home to a large number of top scientific institutes belonging to the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NOW), the science faculty of the University of Amsterdam, and Amsterdam University College. This makes the Amsterdam Science Park the largest beta-cluster in the Netherlands. With the presence of the world’s largest data transfer hub, the AMS-IX, the Amsterdam Science Park is an attractive location for (international) research institutions and companies.
